We Get IT - Great Branding?

Great branding comes along every once and a while, and is even more rare in the hosting industry.  However, there are several major players who know how to take a hosting brand to the next level. Meet Peer1, a server colocation and managed hosting solutions provider. They nailed it with their new "We Get IT" slogan. Rarely do you see a hosting company with such a powerful tag line. And since they are in the Information Technology (IT) sector, playing off "IT" and "it" just makes sense. I wanted to learn more about who's behind the slogan. Who came up with this well-positioned slogan? Was it an outside source or an internal source? Finding out was easy. And well worth it.

Advanced Searchbar Tool Review

A few days ago I wrote a review on Advanced Searchbar, a free program that integrates directly into your browser. The review is posted at Practical eCommerce Magazine and details some of the unique features the tool offers for Internet users who want to organize their browsing experience. People using FireFox may have to wait for the plug-in, but take a look at Advanced Searchbar's features. It may be worth using Internet Explorer until the free FireFox plug-in is ready. Great Move Webmail.us

Branding is so important to the long-term success of a business, especially in competitive markets such as hosting and software. Everyday I research the latest news in the hosting and software industries (actually more than just those two, but for this post, I focus on hosting and software only). Today I came across a news announcement stating that Webmail.us, the mail division of Rackspace, changed its name to Mailtrust. Was the name change a great move on their part?

A new blog - why now?

Blogs have been on the Internet scene for several years now. I have always felt compelled to implement a blog, but never had the time or at least thought it was the right time to implement one. If you have been reading the Young Copy website, you know that I am a professional writer and help clients with all their promotional writing and technical writing projects. But there is more to it than just being able to write great copy or technical documents. Everything I do as a writer helps educate customers and prospects, generate leads, and ultimately increase value and revenue for my clients. So a new blog - why now?
